After breaking domestic and international box-office records, garnering four Academy Awards, and setting the standard by which all futuristic action films are measured, it was very natural for The Matrix to be followed by a sequel. But not just one sequel, or even two -- an entire series of animated films explored the backstory behind the universe of The Matrix

The Animatrix is an unprecedented fusion of CG-animation and Japanese anime. Created in the anime style pioneered by Japanese animation artists and helmed by world-renowned anime directors, The Animatrix also features the voices of actors Keanu Reeves (Neo) and Carrie-Anne Moss (Trinity) in two of the shorts.

Just one episode from The Animatrix, "The Final Flight of the Osiris," accompanied the theatrical release of the supernatural thriller Dreamcatcher, and the entire set was released on DVD on June 3. But this may be your only chance to see The Animatrix on the BIG SCREEN, shown from 35mm motion picture film. Don't miss it!
