Based on a true story, this film is about Irish journalist Veronica Guerin (Cate Blanchett), who in 1996 was assigned to cover Dublin's drug and crime underworld. Shortly thereafter, she was murdered by hitmen for the criminals she had exposed. Publicity surrounding her assassination led to the passage of numerous new laws controlling drug-related crimes. This film covers what happened in between, and sheds light on the series of events that led to her untimely death.
