This summer's smash-hit French comedy about growing up in the New Europe features Audrey Tautou (Amélie), and is the winner of a César (French Oscar) for actress Cécile De France.

French graduate student Xavier participates in an exchange program and goes abroad - far, far away to ... Barcelona. He finds an interesting place to live, in an apartment full of young twentysomethings from all over Europe. Everyone's affable enough, but nobody really understands each other, as the students hail from Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Denmark, and Belgium.

Engaging and catchy, the film shows off the many benefits of travel and exposure to other cultures. There are great changes in Xavier's life, as he breaks up with his girlfriend and learns about making love to women from a Belgian lesbian. After a year away from France, Xavier has experienced the fusing of cultures that is transforming Europe's identity in this period of unification.
