Some students are more like the ones we meet in Real Genius ... relativity is easier for them to understand than what to say on a first date ... complicated and quirky and individual. *** 1/2!
-- Roger Ebert, The Chicago Sun-Times. Read this review.

Shown at LSC no fewer than six times, and a perennial MIT favorite, Real Genius is the classic nerd movie. Mitch (Gabriel Jarret) is one of the youngest students ever accepted by a certain prestigious institute of technology located in California. Along with roommate Chris (Val Kilmer), he leads a team to develop a high-powered laser for a class project. But when the young geniuses discover that their professor intends to turn their hard work into a terrifying weapon, they decide to ruin his plans.

This title is out of distribution on 35mm film. LSC will be showing a studio archive print, the only print known to exist in the United States. This may be your ONLY CHANCE to see Real Genius as it was meant to be seen, on 35mm motion picture film, in 4-track Dolby Stereo.

Special thanks to Michael Schlesinger at Sony Pictures Repertory for making this showing possible.
