Directed by Nicholas Ray. Starring James Dean, Natalie Wood. Jim (Dean),
the adolescent son of a weak father and a domineering mother, is involved
in acts of violence and gets in trouble with the police. At school, he is
attracted to Judy (Wood), a girl unbalanced by her father's sudden
withdrawal of affection. This film is a moving portrayal of the always
problematic transition to manhood.
