Fargo (1996) This charmingly dark comedy tells the story of a Minnesota car dealer who schemes to extort money from his rich father-in-law. When things begin to go sour, Marge, a pregnant cop from upstate, follows a trail of clues to his doorstep. Nominated for 7 Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Actress (Frances McDormand).

Friday, February 21
The 39 Steps (1935) Directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Starring Robert Donat. A secret service agent is assassinated in the London apartment of Richard Hannay (Donat), but Hannay manages to escape both the police and the assassins in order to find the members of the spy ring called "The 39 Steps" in Scotland and thus clear his name. This film is Hitchcock's most famous work of his English period. Marvelous touches of macabre humour and suspense make this film a masterpiece.

Saturday, February 22
Twelfth Night (1996) This Twelfth Night updates Shakespeare's comedy to the late 19th century. It is an entertaining and fast-paced story of mistaken identity, cross-dressing, and unrequited love.

Sunday, February 23
Of Mice and Men (1992) Based on Steinbeck's novel, Of Mice and Men tells of George and his dimwitted brother, Lennie, as they travel across the country as migrant workers. Lennie, who doesn't know his own strength, does not understand why he ends up causing trouble wherever they go. Stars Gary Sinise and John Malkovich.
7 & 10pm in 26-100, 115 min, rated PG-13
